  One grand prize winning radio show's DJs will receive two tickets, exclusive access and travel to Manchester, TN for the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. Also included are media passes for on-site coverage, guest camping, plus, the ability to broadcast a shift live on Bonnaroo's official FM station heard throughout the festival grounds. You will also have the opportunity to conduct band interviews backstage.

  Produce and air a "CMJ's Road to Bonnaroo" Preview Show
• A 15 to 30 minute sample of the station’s hour long, custom made Bonnaroo preview show (the winning
station’s pre-show will air on www.bonnaroo.com).
• A one-page summary of the station’s full show (song line-up, possible interviews, stories, etc...).
• Pre-promotion on air, web and email.
• Pre-show must air on station before May 1st.
• Submit the requested information below by May 5th, 2008.

Get Extra Credit ~ Your Station is Encouraged to:
• Run Bonnaroo themed programming as a daily feature or a one-hour weekly block.
• Run Bonnaroo banner ad, specifically created for the contest, on station website, in station email blasts or on social network sites when possible.
• Mobilize your school's student body via on campus events in the spirit of Bonnaroo:
~ Bonnaroo artist DVD screenings (Bonnaroo's Cinema Tent)
~ Comedy/improv nights (Bonnaroo's Comedy Tent)
~ On campus camp out (Bonnaroo's Campgrounds)
~ Volunteer with a local environmental group (Bonnaroo's greening mission)
~ DJ/dance party nights (Bonnaroo's varied late night DJ performances)

  Your station is required to submit supporting materials showing implementation of the "CMJ's Road to Bonnaroo" preview show and "extra credit." Mp3's, screenshots, photos and a sample of the "CMJ's Road to Bonnaroo" program will be reviewed. Stations will be judged on their professionalism, creativity and success in promoting the festival.

What else are you doing on the air and on campus to promote the festival?



1) The contest is open to all CMJ reporting radio stations in the U.S. and Canada.
2) The contest is open to any DJ from a CMJ reporting radio station with a weekly show on the station.
3) CMJ will require a Program Director or Faculty Advisor contact for confirmation upon choosing the top 5 finalists.
4) Bonnaroo will cover reasonable travel costs (within the continental U.S.) based on the station’s location.
5) The winners must be 18 years of age or older as of June 12, 2008.
6) The winners must sign a Hold Harmless agreement before prize is fulfilled
